The ongoing legal and personal battle between billionaire Senator Ned Nwoko and his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, took a dramatic turn on Monday. Security operatives from the Ajah Division in Lagos State reportedly arrested Regina’s best friend, identified as Ann, sparking fresh outrage from the actress’s family.
The Arrest and Charges
Regina’s elder brother, Sammy, broke the news via Instagram, sharing footage of the arrest. According to the court order presented by the police, Ann is being detained on allegations of:
- Conspiracy
- Assault
- Theft
“Nigeria Has Failed Us” — Family Cries Foul
Sammy vehemently denied the allegations, claiming that Ann has never even stepped foot in the Senator’s residence. He questioned how a court order could be obtained under such circumstances, suggesting that the billionaire is using his influence to intimidate those close to Regina.
“There was no time Ann was ever at Ned’s house. So how is there a court order to detain her for conspiracy, theft, and all? Omo. Nigeria has failed us,” Sammy stated.
Background: A Two-Month Stand-off
This arrest is reportedly the latest in a series of legal actions targeting Regina Daniels’ associates and relatives. The friction began approximately two months ago after Regina publicly called out the Senator, alleging abuse and domestic violence within their marriage.
Since the fallout, several people close to the actress have reportedly been picked up by security agencies, leading to a heated debate on social media regarding the use of power in personal disputes.
